FAQs: Welcome

1. Who are we and what do we do?

Oopsie Doodles is a premier family based breeding program that places emphasis on well adjusted, healthy, and loved standard and mini doodles.

2. What do we breed?

We have labradoodles and goldendoodles, standards, mediums, minis and micro-minis. We also have the occasional litter of havidoodles.

3. How many breeder dogs do you have?

We are a small family based program, that only has a select number of litters per year. We have a small breeding crew, please see the Home Page to get to know our retired and current breeders.

4. How many litters do you have each year?

We have approximately 4 liters per year. We try to limit this number so we can spend valuable time with each animal, with the most individualized attention as well as an extensive training protocol/program.

5. Is it ethical to breed and how do you offset the stigma?

We believe that it is ethical to breed as long as you are practicing ethical practices. We support area shelters by rescuing dogs, in addition to our breeding program. When potential pup parents use a breeder to acquire their new best friend, they have the advantage of knowing their puppies history, origin and health history and here at Oopsie Doodles, our puppies are born with privilege. Sadly, not all dogs are. Because of this, we also encourage owners to support their local shelters and rescue programs in whatever way they possibly can after the adoption of one of our sweet ‘doods.

6. How do you implement health and safe practices for your animals?

Our animals are raised in a clean and well supervised environment, and are current on all vaccinations and receive high qualityvet care. They are under vet supervision from in vitro to birth and beyond.

7. What sets you apart from other breeders?

We set ourselves apart by enhancing each puppies environment and early training. We implement a program that promotes early neurological stimulation, early obedience training and potty training as well as litter training and socialization skills. But I think the biggest factor that sets us apart is our mission to spread and do all that we do with ONLY LOVE. Our breeding program goes beyond producing puppies, as we try to give back to our family, our local communities, and to the families that we serve on a constant and daily basis, in anyway that we can. We also encourage new families to continue their dialog with us and stay in contact, so we can continue to watch their puppy grow. Each paw print has a place in our hearts and we dont forget any of the pups that stay with us in the beginning of their lives.

8. How do you select adoptive pup parents?

We have an interview process for each family. We have an application that each prospective adoptive family must fill out, after this, we interview each individually. It's not necessarily first come first serve but what's in the best interest of each puppy. We can also help select the puppy for each family based on temperament and personality if owners request this. We only produce “pets”, we do not sell to other breeders or those who will be reselling or using our puppies to reproduce.

9. Do your animals come certified, licensed or pedigreed?

Doodles are not recognized by the American Kennel Club, therefore we do not have the ability to pedigree them. However, we do test our doodles through Embark. They will come with a guarantee with plenty of information on their health and background as well as their vet records.

10. What support will I receive before, during and after the adoption process?

We are 100% breeder guarantee for the lifetime of that puppy. If any issue shall arise, we will take back a puppy anytime. We also utilize a rehoming program. As far as training or health concerns or general information, we are available for the lifetime of your puppy by phone, email or social media. We also have a Facebook page that is updated daily, as well as a website and blog where we update frequently with information on training tips, product reviews and more!

11. What made you decide to get into breeding?

This was a lifelong dream and encouraged by my inspiring father, George. Here at Oopsie Doodles, we all have a love of animals. Providing service to the community was a lifelong dream and to be able to provide emotionally sound companions for people to enhance their lives with was something that inspired us. Through this journey, we hope to heal one heart at a time.

12. Where are you located?

We are located in the rolling hills of northern Michigan. Even though we are placed based, we do accept applicants from out of state and will work with them for logistics and coordination of pick up. We do not ship puppies, arrangements will have to be made for local pick up.

13. I want a puppy! How can I get on a wait list?

Start by contacting us and filling out the application, which we will review. We will then contact you to set up an interview. After that, we will require a deposit to hold your place on the waitlist.

14. Pricing and Adopting Fee?

Because we breed a wide variety of sweeties, please connect with us to see what litters are available and what is expected in the coming months. We will be able to give you an adoption fee at the time of contact.
